!Hola! Soy Mia Samirah Bermejo Cruz. Tengo 9 años de edad y se aproxima una etapa muy difícil en mi vida. Desde que estaba en el vientre de mami, ya mi familia sabía que tendría un corazón especial. Me he encontrado bajo tratamiento y muchos medicamentos desde que nací, lo cual me ha mantenido con salud y he podido disfrutar mi niñez.
No fue hasta hace poco tiempo que debido a mi problema del corazón y todos los medicamentos que tomo, mis pulmones no están funcionando bien. Ahora necesito estar todo el tiempo con una maquina de oxigeno lo cual no me permite hacer las actividades diarias que hacía antes.
Pero no fue hasta mi tercer cateterismo realizado en el mes de febrero de 2017, en Tampa FL. Donde me diagnostican el peor temor de mis padres y familiares, “Necesito un corazón nuevo”. Necesito un trasplante del corazón, allí encontraron que tengo; Persistencia del agujero oval, Cardiomiopatía Restrictiva, Severa disfunción diastólica del ventrículo izquierdo, Considerable agrandamiento del atrio izquierdo e Insuficiencia de la válvula mitral, además de la Hipertensión pulmonar. Al igual que Yo, quizás no conozcas algunas de estas condiciones. Lo que si te puedo asegurar es que están afectando mi salud.
En estos 9 años mis padres y familiares me han ayudado a llevar una vida normal como los demás niños de mi edad, a pesar de mi condición. Participo en actividades escolares, modelaje, tengo excelentes notas, soy buena hermana y buena hija. Mis padres me han enseñado a ser fuerte antes situaciones no muy buenas, pero con esta noticia todos estamos muy angustiados. Confío en Dios, que todo este tratamiento será positivo para mi salud y muy pronto tendré una vida normal para una niña de mi edad.
Finalmente, les pido que compartan mi historia y la lleven a sus oraciones. Estamos confiados que con la ayuda de Dios y de ustedes lograre tener un nuevo corazón. Si desean hacer una donación, mis padres y Yo estaremos muy agradecidos, ya que estos tratamientos son muy costosos.

Hello! I'm Mia Samirah Bermejo Cruz. I am 9 years old and a very difficult stage is approaching in my life. Since I was in Mom's womb, and my family knew I would have a special heart. I have been under treatment and many medications since I was born, which has kept me healthy and I have been able to enjoy my childhood.
It was not until recently that because of my heart problem and all the medications I take, my lungs are not working well. Now I need to be with an oxygen machine all the time, which does not allow me to do the daily activities I did before.
But it was not until my third catheterization in February of 2017 in Tampa FL. Where I am diagnosed the worst fear of my parents and relatives, "I need a new heart." I need a heart transplant, there they found that I have; Persistence of the foramen ovale, Restrictive Cardiomyopathy, Severe diastolic dysfunction of the left ventricle, Considerable enlargement of the left atrium and Mitral valve insufficiency, in addition to pulmonary hypertension. Like me, you may not know some of these conditions. What I can assure you is that they are affecting my health.
In these 9 years my parents and relatives have helped me lead a normal life like other children my age, despite my condition. I participate in school activities, modeling, I have excellent grades, I am a good sister and a good daughter. My parents have taught me to be strong in all situations, but with this news we are all very distressed. I trust in God, that all this treatment will be positive for my health and very soon I will have a normal life for a girl of my age.
Finally, I ask you to share my story and bring it to your prayers. We are confident that with the help of God and you, I will be able to have a new heart. If you want to make a donation, my parents and I will be very grateful, since these treatments are very expensive.
