Nathan è un bambino di due anni nato pretermine alla 32 esima settimana.

Ha trascorso ben 48 giorni tra Terapia intensiva e post intensiva lottando come un piccolo guerriero per superare ogni piccola o grande difficoltà che si presentava come ad esempio il raggiungimento di un peso adeguato o di abbandonare pian piano cpap,ossigeno alti flussi ecc per respirare autonomamente e tra le mille preghiere di noi genitori e familiari sembrava procedere tutto bene quando..il giorno delle presunte dimissioni, da esami che non avevano mai fatto a mio figlio nei giorni e mesi precedenti si accorgono di un emorragia cerebrale che ha avuto alla nascita che ha successivamente dato esiti di leucomalacia periventricolare .Quante volte ho cercato quella maledetta parola su internet,quante volte ho cercato una soluzione,quante volte mi sono sentita una mamma impotente e inutile nel non riuscire a fare nulla per mio figlio..tante,tantissime..ma ora devo fare per lui la cosa che magari è piu difficile fare,ad alcuni tratti anche abbastanza umiliante,CHIEDERE AIUTO..per noi è stata una doccia fredda che ancora oggi dopo ben due anni ci portiamo nel cuore con tanti se,tanti ma e tanti perché….peró allo stesso tempo dobbiamo farci forza e cercare di fare di tutto per il nostro piccolo,lui e solo lui è la cosa piu importante ed ora abbiamo un solo sogno e una sola speranza .. quella di vedere il nostro bambino muovere i suoi primi passi e raggiungere quel briciolo di autonomia che merita.. ad oggi(2 anni) Nathan non sta seduto senza appoggio dietro,non gattona e ovviamente non cammina fa fisioterapia convenzionata ogni giorno ma non basta,avrebbe bisogno di percorsi intensivi e di lavorare sodo con tecniche particolari,attrezzature particolari per riuscire a metterlo in piedi,peró purtroppo qui da noi non esiste nulla di tutto ció e bisogna spostarsi fuori..Ci siamo informati ed i costi sono sempre elevatissimi circa 3500 euro per un mese di queste terapie,e calcolando anche il viaggio il pernottamento ecc la cifra diventa insostenibile per un qualcosa che purtroppo dovrà fare per tanti mesi all anno e forse anche per anni..seppur lavoriamo e cerchiamo di fare ogni tipo di sacrificio per non fargli mancare nulla ma con uno stipendio medio non si riescono a fare grandi cose dato che ci sono purtroppo anche le spese fisse e tra casa bollette e spesa, lo stipendio è già del tutto andato.Molto probabilmente anche la vista del piccolo Nathan è compromessa e stiamo cercando di indagare quanto piu possibile ,a breve dovrá fare un ricovero a roma al bambino gesù sperando di avere nuovi spiragli sul da farsi anche su quest altro problema ..vi ringrazio tutti e vi terremo aggiornati quanto piu possibile sperando che sia un anno migliore e pieno di soddisfazioni . Ogni vostro piccolo contributo sarà per Nathan un dono immenso e ne faremo tesoro grazie..L importo inserito è davvero indicativo piu disponibilità abbiamo e più mesi di intensivi potrà fare Nathan…Un sogno davvero irraggiungibile sarebbe quello di aprire un centro di riabilitazione intensiva nella nostra citta per dare la possibilità a tutti quei bambini e ragazzi che come mio figlio hanno piu bisogno e di non doversi spostare sempre loro,che è gia tutto cosi difficoltoso e faticoso e cambiare le loro abitudini o lasciare la loro zona “confort” magari partendo con un solo genitore perchè l altro deve rimanere a lavorare nella propria città ,a volte è davvero terribile…questi bambini subiscono traumi di ogni tipo,anche dover cambiare sempre specialisti,terapisti e vedere facce nuove ecc. Sarebbe bello affidarli a qualcuno che li segua in tutto e per tutto come si deve ..e per un genitore anche sarebbe bello non doversi dividere piu volte l anno per mesi interi ,per il lavoro, e avere accanto il proprio marito avendo tutto l appoggio in quei momenti cosi intensi e pieni di ansie e paure..

HELP FOR NATHAN'S REHABILITATION

Nathan is a two-year-old boy born preterm at 32 weeks. He spent 48 days between intensive and post-intensive therapy, fighting like a little warrior to overcome every small or large difficulty that arose, such as reaching an adequate weight or slowly abandoning CPAP, high flow oxygen, etc. to breathe independently and among the thousand prayers of us parents and family members everything seemed to be going well when... on the day of the presumed resignation, from tests that had never been done on my son in the previous days and months they noticed a cerebral hemorrhage that he had at birth which caused subsequently given results of periventricular leukomalacia. How many times have I searched for that damned word on the internet, how many times have I looked for a solution, how many times have I felt like a helpless and useless mother in not being able to do anything for my son... many, many... but now I have to do for him the thing that is perhaps most difficult to do, at times even quite humiliating, ASK FOR HELP.. for us it was a cold shower that even today after two years we carry in our hearts with many ifs, many buts and many whys... but at the same time we must make ourselves strong and try to do everything for our little one, he and only he is the most important thing and now we have only one dream and only one hope... that of seeing our child take his first steps and achieve that modicum of autonomy he deserves.. to date (2 years) Nathan does not sit without support behind him, he does not crawl and obviously does not walk, he does affiliated physiotherapy every day but it is not enough, he would need intensive courses and to work hard with particular techniques, special equipment to be able to set it up, but unfortunately none of this exists here and we have to move outside... We informed ourselves and the costs are always very high, around 3500 euros for a month of these therapies, and also calculating the journey, the overnight stay etc. the figure becomes unsustainable for something that unfortunately he will have to do for many months a year and perhaps even for years... even though we work and try to make every kind of sacrifice so as not to make him miss anything but with with an average salary it is not possible to do great things given that unfortunately there are also fixed expenses and between home bills and shopping, the salary is already completely gone. Very probably even little Nathan's vision is compromised and we are trying to investigate how much as possible, Baby Jesus will soon have to be hospitalized in Rome, hoping to have new insights into what to do about this other problem too...
