Un aiuto per le cure di Najat

Karim Najat è una giovane donna di 35 anni, mamma di un bimbo di 7 anni, che vive a Civitanova Marche e sta affrontando una dura battaglia contro un tumore al cervello. 
Questa raccolta fondi è per permettere a Najat di accedere a una nuova terapia oncologica in Germania.

Nel 2017 Najat scopre di avere un tumore alla testa chiamato Astrocitoma, viene diagnosticato inizialmente come benigno e subito operato, ma nel giro di pochi mesi è ricomparso e questa volta con un alto grado di malignità. Da questo momento Najat  deve mettere tutte le sue energie nella lotta contro la malattia, insieme a suo marito Andrea che le resta sempre accanto e al suo bimbo Adam, che le dà forza di andare avanti.  
Seguendo le cure all’Ospedale di Milano Carlo Besta, Najat  si è sottoposta a 2 interventi chirurgici alla testa, 3 cicli di chemioterapia e 35  sedute  di radioterapia, sopportando tutte le difficoltà e le sofferenze con la speranza e la forza d’animo di una mamma che deve farcela.
Ma dopo un iniziale miglioramento, le terapie non hanno dato i risultati sperati. Il marito ha dovuto lasciare il lavoro per seguire Najat nelle cure e per accudire il loro bambino durante i lunghi ricoveri in ospedale di Najat, ricorrendo a tutti i risparmi che avevano da parte.

Il motivo per cui abbiamo avviato questa raccolta fondi è per permettere a Najat di accedere alle cure dell’Istituto di Immunoterapia Oncologica di Köln in Germania (Immun-Onkologisches Zentrum Köln, https://www.iozk.de/en/), che tratta alcuni tipi di tumore, tra cui l’astrocitoma, con l’immunoterapia e le cellule staminali. Il centro sviluppa per i pazienti un approccio personalizzato che ha mostrato risultati incoraggianti. È ritenuto uno dei migliori centri in Europa per questo tipo di terapie e per il trattamento dei tumori alla testa.
L’Istituto ha esaminato il caso di Najat ritenendola idonea al trattamento, una speranza concreta per continuare la sua lotta per la vita. 
La nostra piccola associazione con sede ad Ancona (Progetto G.A.I.A. Onlus https://www.facebook.com/progettogaiaonlus/) sta facendo il massimo per sostenere le cure di Najat, abbiamo contribuito a finanziare il primo step di questo percorso (3.500 euro*), cioè la diagnosi oncologica immunologica da parte dell’Istituto e un primo esame del caso. Ma abbiamo bisogno di aiuto per permettere a Najat di accedere alla terapia, e a suo marito e suo figlio di rimanerle accanto.
Grazie di cuore da parte nostra e da parte di Najat a chi potrà aiutarla con un sostegno economico, e anche a chi non potendo, vorrà comunque dedicarle un pensiero per la sua guarigione. ❤

Karim Najat is a 35 year old young woman, mother of a 7 year old boy, who lives in Civitanova Marche (Italy) and is facing a tough battle. Her husband Andrea has asked us for help. We are organizing this fundraising for Najat to access a new cancer therapy in Germany.

In 2017 she discovers a head tumor called Astrocytoma, initially diagnosed as benign and immediately operated, but within a few months it reappeared and this time with a high degree of malignancy. From this moment on, Najat has put all her energies into fighting against the disease, together with her husband Andrea who is always by her side and their child Adam, who gives her strength to go on.
Following the treatments at the Carlo Besta Hospital in MILAN, Najat underwent 2 head surgeries, 3 cycles of chemotherapy and 35 radiotherapy sessions, enduring all the difficulties and sufferings with the hope and strength of a mom who has to make it through.
But after an initial improvement, the therapies did not give the desired results. The husband had to quit his job to assist Najat and to look after their child during the long hospitalization periods, using all the savings they had aside.

The reason why we started this fundraiser is to allow Najat to access the treatments of the Institute of Oncological Immunotherapy of Köln in Germany (Immun-Onkologisches Zentrum Köln, https://www.iozk.de/en/), which treats some types of cancer, including astrocytoma, with immunotherapy and stem cells. The center develops a personalized approach for patients, which has shown encouraging results. It is considered one of the best centers in Europe for this type of therapy and for the treatment of head tumors.

The Institute examined the case of Najat, considering it suitable for the treatment, a concrete hope to continue its struggle for life. 
Our small association based in Ancona (GAIA Onlus Project  https://www.facebook.com/progettogaiaonlus/) is doing its utmost to support the care of Najat, we have helped finance the first step of this process (3500 euros) , i.e. the immunological oncological diagnosis by the Institute and first intake.
But we need help to allow Najat to access therapy, and her husband and son to stay with her.
