Hi, my name is Aliya. I was born in Canada and currently live in Israel with my parents and my brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and awesome friends.

For my Bat Mitzva I am raising money for IsraAID, an Israeli nonprofit providing life-saving disaster relief and long term support throughout the world.

Specifically, the funds raised will support the Syrian refugees IsraAID is assisting in Greece.  59% of these refugees are women and children who have suffered tremendously in the wartorn country from which they are escaping. The charity raised will support the refugee school for Peace in Lesvos, Greece. 

IsraAIDS' mobile units are providing immediate aid, medical services, and psychological first aid. They are distributing emergency supplies, identifying special needs and particularly vulnerable groups, especially children. They also provide grief counseling and trauma prevention.
