Hi, My name is Brenda Wray and I am raising funds for my dear friend and co-worker, Barbara Zins.

In the spring of 2022, Barb was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor of her breast. With radiation, her tumor did shrink, but new symptoms developed, such as shortness of breath and persistent cough. It was thought that radiation caused the breathing difficulties. Unfortunately, after more tests and scans, Barb was diagnosed with a rare type of lung cancer called Adeno Carcinoma with Lipidic Growth (BAC).

Barb currently is a 26 year veteran program aide for Bismarck Public Schools. We work with students of varying abilities and backgrounds, some of which are trauma based and need intensive behavior supports. Over the past 26 years, Barb has written plans, done skills, dried tears, given praise and built confidence in numerous students.

Barb is one of the toughest people I know and a rare breed of woman that I strive to be. Woman like Barb are rare and when you meet her, you know you have met one of God's beautiful creations. Barb lives on her own on a small ranch East of Bismarck. You can see her quilting, riding horse, enjoying her family and listening to audio books. She is a quiet soul that will give you her whole heart in anything you need.

Barb has four children, three of which live out of state. She loves spending time with her seven grandchildren that light up her life. She is an avid outdoors woman and loves to hunt, fish and ride horse and of course play cards and dance.

Barb is fighting the battle of her life right now. She has a very fragile immune system due to her treatment and is unable to work at this time. We ask for your prayers, good vibes and support.

We will be also hosting a free will donation benefit dance with a live band, Stealin Country, on March 25th at Bismarck Amvets, with silent auction and appetizers.
