Zarate Family Fire Relief

The Buyers Flea Market has been a staple for cheap finds and greats deals in Chicago Humboldt Park neighborhood. Zarate’s Pet Supplies was no different, where families were able to find discount prices on animals from hamsters to snakes to parrots and accessories. This family owned business was part of the known staples here. Our aunt, a single mom, Belem Zarate lost her pet store, Zarate’s Pet Supplies, March 8th due to a fire that engulfed the entire building. While thankfully, the majority of the animals are safe, (a few reptiles were not saved) since the majoirty were not kept at the flea market during the week, she no longer has a place to sell which was her only source of income and used to provide for her growing family. Finding a space where she can restart her business and a making sure the space is up to Animal Control standards will be difficult and take a great amount of time. Our entire family is saddened by the situation and are still in shock of how sudden things can change in life.

Any Funds donated will go directly to Belem and her family to help pay for bills and restarting her small business while she gets back on her feet. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and I cannot explain how thankful we will be.
