Yay! Dad's alive! But cancer treatments suck and have wreaked havoc on my Dad's teeth. They are literally falling to pieces in his mouth and his disability check won't make a dent in his dental bill (pardon the pun.) Please send $5 (or more if you'd like.) If you've made it this far and already donated, thanks, you're a great friend. If you've made it this far and haven't donated yet but you're still reading... thanks, you're a great friend, too. Dad's journey has been really tough and he's just now getting some reprieve. For over two and a half years an immense pain has consumed and controlled every aspect of my Dad's life. Now as the pain is receding, joy and love and gratitude are taking its place. It truly is an amazing transformation to witness. And although the healing process is proceeding well, there is this issue looming over my Dad. I so wish that he could enjoy this freedom from that oppressive pain without the worry of how he will be able to deal with his dental problems. During his transplant he was unable to undergo any dental procedures due to his suppressed immune system and in the meantime his chemo-weakened teeth continued to deteriorate. He's now reached the point that he needs several thousand dollars worth of dental work, and the longer he waits, the worse it will be. His goal is to get back to work by the fall, but I fear that will be too late for his teeth. I'm hoping that with the support of his friends and family we can help him to defray the costs and get those teeth into shape and ready for his fresh start on life. Again I can't thank you all enough.
