Our friend Ruth needs your help!

My name is Clive Baker. I'm fundraising with May Piekarski on behalf of our longtime friend, Ruth Jones, whose car was totaled after being hit by an 18 wheeler. Ruth is awaiting an insurance settlement, but it won’t be enough to replace their car when it comes through.

The fallout from losing their car is compounded by an unavoidable relocation. They were able to secure a job (albeit with less hours than expected) before they could secure housing. They were only able to afford a rental car through Saturday, April 26th at 1:30pm, after which time they don’t know how they’ll be able to make the hour-plus commute to work.

We have observed Ruth work tirelessly to rectify this situation on their own, but it’s become increasingly difficult, and much of it has been out of their control.

We're asking for $2500 to mitigate these circumstances. This will cover:

• Transportation costs to and from work for at least another week while awaiting the settlement money

• assistance with the security deposit on a new room

• a down payment, title fees, and other expenses associated with buying a car that can pass inspection
