My name is Connie, im paula's sister. We went to Florida for vacation and was here a couple days when paula became ill. She went to the hospital Sept. 9th thinking she had cold and found out that she has Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Paula was in Gainesville, Fla until the 11th and has since been transfered to Orlando. When she got to Orlando she was in critical condition and had to have a blood transfusion. She started chemo treatment on 9/12. Paula is extreamly sick at this time and is looking at being here in Florida for at least a month or more. Once they get her stable enough to travel my niece and I are going to take her back home to Columbus, Ohio to continue treatment there. Paula is the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back and never ask for anything in return. Paula has 3 boys,7 grandchildren, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and a bunch of nieces and nephews, and friends all waiting for her to return back home in ohio. Paula has a long road ahead of her before she can even think of being at home. I am staying here in Florida until shes able to travel to OSU cancer center once she's stable. Donations will go towards paulas bills, medical bills, gas back and forth to the hospital for myself to be there with my sister, and hotel stays.
