Fundraiser for Theft Victim

Donation protected
This is a personal fundraiser for my friend Ashton, who is pictured on the far right. She is a phenomenal person, who always thinks of others before herself. She has been my best friend since high school (almost a decade ago now) and I consider her a sister and beloved "tita" to my young daughter. She is a hilarious, fun-loving, and fiercely independent woman. She has always been there for me and her other friends and family, through thick and thin. My husband and I are dual military and when we both have to leave to do our duty, she doesn't hesitate to step up and help us care for our child.

These past couple months have been ridiculously hard on her. She had a highly stressful job that ended up harming her health and left her having to leave work a few times due to illness. This lead to said job letting her go because she was "unreliable" though she had proof from her doctor's visits. While searching for a new job, somehow her identity and banking information was stolen, and money was stolen from her account, leaving her account negative $2500. As if that wasn't enough, her bank told her that because of the nature of the theft (somehow money withdrawn via money grams, thus making it untraceable), she was still liable for all the missing money. And on top of that, she was told that she has 40 days (from 2 days ago) to pay the amount in full, or else her account gets closed and it goes to collections. She has spoken with many people at the bank, to include management, that the 40 day policy has no exceptions and nothing could be done for her.

In total, she was fired, then was robbed of a large amount of money when her identity was stolen while job hunting, and now is responsible for said stolen money while she is still unemployed.

Now she has to move out of her apartment and move back in with her family in another state, leaving her friends and life behind that she has worked so hard to achieve the last 2 years.

This is a secret fundraiser, as she has declined to accept money outright from friends as she believes money owed between friends could end relationships, so she values her friendships more than money.

Please help us help her, even if she doesn't want it. Even if we don't make our goal, we can still give her something and trick her into taking it by saying good Samaritans gave it to her.

As proof that she deserves this help, I'd like to also add that she killed a spider today with barehanded, even though we're both mortally afraid of spiders.

Granted, I was driving and it was on my steering wheel and we would have both died if she didn't, but still. You don't find bros like that every day.
