For Alice

We've put this campaign together to support our friend Phil, in his efforts to support his daughter Alice.

Alice is a wonderful, bright, joyful little girl. Anyone who meets her knows immediately how much warmth and life she brings into a room. We’re deeply lucky to have her in our orbit, and she deserves a childhood marked by stability, care, and the freedom to simply be a kid.

Phil is a single dad who has been doing everything he can to show up for his daughter — consistently, responsibly, and with love. Over time, that commitment has led him into a difficult and costly situation that he didn’t seek out, but that he can’t walk away from either without putting Alice’s wellbeing at risk.

This fundraiser exists to help cover the very real costs that come with protecting Alice's stability — legal fees, administrative costs, and the practical expenses that arise when a parent is doing everything possible to act in their child’s best interest.

We don't want to blame people or institutions for why Phil's been placed in this impossible situation. We just want to help him make sure that Alice continues to be supported, protected, and able to grow up knowing that when it mattered, the adults around her stepped up.

I genuinely believe Alice will grow into someone who understands the complexity of being human — and who knows how much it matters when people choose care, love, and responsibility when they can.
