Our dear friend Uma, who has tirelessly served her community for many many years, is in great need of our help. She was recently and somewhat suddenly diagnosed with cancer. Due to the severity, a strong round of chemo was introduced immediately with a second round to follow shortly. 

She is being moved back and forth between the hospital and the skilled nursing facility in this process. At this time we do not know when or if she will reach a stage of returning home.

While Medicare is currently covering most of the costs, that will soon change when a daily co-pay kicks in. If she becomes too "well" to be admitted to either the hospital or the nursing facility, returning home will require in home care which is currently not covered by her policy. Additionally she will not be able to work and will need help with living expenses. We may also discover that her current living situation may not be ideal for the care she may need and we will need to find other arrangements.

The goal we are currently aiming for is likely on the low side, and as we learn more that amount may be increased. 

While we take it day by day, there is no question that Uma will need our support. Please donate what you can when and as often as you can, every dollar will make a difference!
