Need Help to Avoid Eviction

Hello,

My name is Michael Mann. As many of you may know I have been struggling with

rental issues now for a couple of years. The good news is that I finally received a payment from the Va. States Rental Relief Program which paid off most of my past rent and believe me it was no easy task and I had to involve a State Senator and the press to accomplish this. I still had a balance which I have been paying off by adding an additional $500.00 to my rent for the last several months but I still have a balance of about $3,000 (this includes $2,480.50 for unpaid rent, $75.00 late fees, $65.00 in interest and $511.00 in attorneys fees). I thought that this was satisfactory as I should have had the balance paid up by the end of summer 2023. However, a couple of days ago I received a "Summons for Unlawful Retainer (Civil Claim for Eviction)" at which I have to appear before the court on 6/26/2023 where I will be expected to pay the $3,000 or face eviction. Needless to say, this has put me in a tough bind because, at the same time, the apartment complex has seen fit to increase my month-to-month rent by $160.00 which will make it harder to catch my account up as I use almost all of my monthly social security payment to deal with the rent issue. I won't even get into how the owners of the complex have done everything to make my task as difficult as they can by adding all sorts of fees and penalties. I hate to do it but I need your help once more. I thank everyone who has helped me in the past and especially those I work with. I am so lucky to work where I do. I am a part-time IA for Kindergarteners in a local school system and they are my life but I'm not sure what would happen if I'm evicted.
