Support a Family's Recovery from House Fire

Last night, my family and I went through something completely unexpected. While we were sleeping on the second floor of our two-family home, my mom noticed smoke. When I opened the door, thick smoke filled the hallway. She quickly woke me, my dad, and my grandma, and we managed to get out safely-but we had to leave everything behind. Outside, we watched in shock as the back of our house was engulfed in flames while firefighters arrived to put out the fire.

We’ve lived in this home since 2019, and now it’s badly damaged and unlivable. We lost so many of our belongings. Windows were shattered, walls were torn down, the basement flooded, and the heating system was completely ruined. The house is in such bad shape that it’s impossible for us to stay there. The Red Cross has helped us with some immediate needs, but there’s still so much to recover from.

I’m a Bethel High School senior about to graduate, and my parents work incredibly hard to support us. This was sudden and overwhelming, and we’re asking for any help you can offer to find a new place to live and replace the essentials we lost. We truly appreciate your kindness and support during this difficult time.
