Hello to everyone who knows one of the kindest, most loyal people I've ever met.

Those who truly know him — and aren’t afraid of a little honesty — know exactly what I’m talking about.

With courage and passion, he’s been pursuing a childhood dream: working with football here in Ireland. Through his football school and futsal team, he’s not only staying true to that dream — he’s reigniting it in others, too. In both kids and adults who once dreamed of playing the game.

I’ve had the privilege of living closely with him and his amazing wife — another incredible human being — and I witnessed one of the most painful losses anyone can go through: the loss of a child before birth.

But I also saw something even stronger: I saw them rise again.

In just 40 days, they launched a futsal project and took the team to a tournament — all while still in mourning. They gave up time, money, and even their own well-being to keep the project alive. All of it out of love — for what they do and for the people around them.

But this fundraiser isn’t for the team.

It’s for them.

In less than two months, they’ll welcome a new baby into the world. A new life. A new beginning. But right now, our friend is facing serious health issues and pain that may prevent him from working. On top of that, some debts taken on in the past — in good faith, to help others — have become a heavy burden.

That’s why we — friends who see the strength and generosity of this couple — want to give something back. Not just money. But a collective gift. A gesture. A way of saying:

“We’re with you.”

This fundraiser is a hug.

A hug in the form of support, so they can embrace this new chapter — the arrival of their baby — with more peace, dignity, and care.

Olá a todos que conhecem uma das pessoas com o maior coração e senso de amizade que já vi.

Quem o conhece de verdade — e não tem frescura — sabe exatamente do que estou falando.

Ele vem trilhando, com coragem e paixão, o caminho de um sonho de menino: trabalhar com futebol aqui na Irlanda. Com sua escolinha e o time de futsal, ele não apenas segue firme nesse sonho, mas também reacende essa chama em muitos outros — adultos e crianças que um dia sonharam com o esporte.

Vivendo de perto com ele e sua inseparável esposa — que é, aliás, outra pessoa incrível — pude sentir a dor de uma das maiores perdas que alguém pode passar: a perda de um filho antes do nascimento. Mas também vi algo ainda mais forte... vi os dois se reerguendo.

Em apenas 40 dias, colocaram de pé um projeto de futsal e levaram o time para o campeonato, mesmo com o coração ainda em luto. Fizeram isso muitas vezes abrindo mão de si mesmos, de tempo, de dinheiro, para manter o projeto funcionando. Tudo isso por amor ao que fazem e às pessoas ao redor.

Mas esta vaquinha não é para o time.

Ela é para eles.

Em breve — dentro de no máximo dois meses — eles vão receber um novo bebê. Uma nova vida. Uma nova chance de recomeço. Mas neste momento, nosso amigo enfrenta sérias dificuldades de saúde e dores que podem limitar sua capacidade de trabalhar. Além disso, algumas dívidas assumidas no passado (em boa fé, para ajudar outras pessoas) hoje estão se tornando um peso.

Por isso, nós — amigos que reconhecem a grandeza desse casal — queremos dar algo em troca. Não apenas dinheiro. Mas um presente coletivo. Um gesto. Uma forma de dizer: "estamos com vocês."

Essa vaquinha é um abraço.
