The Ultimate Photo Archives is presented by UltiPhotos, who will build and host this comprehensive archive of Ultimate photos. The Ultimate community has trusted UltiPhotos and its team of professional photographers to provide world-class photography to showcase Ultimate since 2008.
UltiPhotos was inspired in part by the many fantastic photographers who came before and devoted countless hours behind the lens, in the darkroom, and at the computer in a labor of love to produce great images of our sport. Ultimate is currently experiencing rapid growth at the youth level and increased recognition around the world. As we enter Ultimate’s 6th decade, we want to assemble a photo history to recognize those who built the sport and showcase the photographers who captured these key moments before their photo collections are lost to time.
The "UP Archives" are dedicated to showcasing these great photographers and their amazing work, and reconnecting players from across the generations to memories from the Ultimate events they cherish.
UltiPhotos is dedicated to diversity in its photo coverage. We will strive for diversity across the archive collections by gender, geography, era, and level of competition. Additionally, we are committed to highlighting underrepresented groups to recognize their historic contributions and raise visibility to encourage a more diverse ultimate in the future. For example, we will pull highlights from all coverage to create a “Black Alumni through the Decades” collection featuring those who helped found the sport.
A project of such a grand scale will take a lot of work and we need your help! We have already identified dozens of photographers with collections worthy of including in the Archives. For each photographer, we will make a detailed survey of their photo collections. We will then begin the painstaking process to catalogue, digitize (where necessary), upload, organize, and present each contributed collection in the Archives. Fortunately, we already have several photographers who are interested in being a part of our project! Please help us bring photos from Ultimate photography legends such as Karl Cook, Dan Hyslop, Scobel Wiggins, and Andrew Davis to a permanent home in the Ultimate Photography Archives.
