Ulrich was born with Neuroblastoma a tumor forming childhood cancer that affects immature nerve cells. He was diagnosed with a stage 4 high risk form making his condition at high risk for relapse and a cure not likely. Currently he is 10 years old and has been fighting for his life since the day he was born. He has received numerous chemotherapy treatments, surgeries,  radiations treatments, immunotherapy treatments and clinical trials yet his cancer keeps coming back despite achieving no evidence of disease and remaining clear for 1 to 2 years. Ulrich also has suffered multiple bowel obstructions due to side effects from treatments. Ulrich has had to travel far from home to receive such treatments and ensure the best chances of fighting this disease. As Ulrich is facings his 7th battle we may need to consider a new clinical trial out of state where insurance may not cover this along with travel expenses since we are already working with 2 hospitals for his treatment. Since Ulrich has been diagnosed his mother has been unable to maintain a stable job, because each time he relapses she needs to stop working to be at bedside for Ulrich. While going through chemotherapy his immune system is compromised and his counts drop meaning at any moment Ulrich may need to be hospitalized dues to something small like a nose bleed or a fever. Ulrich also has siblings at home. Ulrich has been deemed uncurable, we are running out of options and time.
