Ulises' Battle Against Cancer

Ulises Herrera is a 16 year old boy who was diagnosed with Intracranial malignant Non-germinomatous germ cell tumors (NGGCT). Ulises and his family received the devastating news that no one is prepared to hear at the age of 15 in October 2021. Since then he has had 2 surgeries. The first to drain liquid that was built up from the blockage the tumor caused and the 2nd to remove a blood clot that was formed after the first surgery. In November he started chemotherapy which was supposed to consist of 6 cycles but at the 2nd cycle they once again were given heartbreaking news that the tumor was growing. The doctors thought it was best to have a 3rd surgery to have the tumor removed but this time in Utah. Therefore Ulises and his family have had to take an emergency leave out of their hometown and away from their loved ones. Today, January 6th, he is currently in his 3rd surgery.
