UK Club Table Tennis - Regional & National Championships

My name is Felipe Gonzalez, Graduate Student at University of Kentucky. This story is on behalf of the University of Kentucky Table Tennis Club.

Our Table Tennis Club was reborn in 2024 from the dreams of aspiring table tennis players seeking to make a community and grow the sport on campus (BBNvolved). As a new club sport, securing funding has been our biggest challenge. Despite our financial situation, we were able to pull together to participate in the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA) Divisional Tournament in Fall 2024 and early Spring 2025 in Columbus, Ohio. This second Divisional tournament was a qualifier for Regionals, which could then lead into Nationals.

We are very happy to announce that in this last Divisional tournament, we qualified (singles and team) for the Midwest Regionals for the first time in club history! This tournament took place in Saint Louis, Missouri in March 8th and 9th, 2025.

In the Regional Tournament our team finalized #8 of the Midwest Region! and Felipe González qualified to the National singles Championship with #6 position in the regional ranking. This tournament will take place in Rockford, Illinois in April 4-6th, 2025 (details here).

Unfortunately, to participate we need to raise $1,800 to cover room/board, registration fees, accommodations, and travel for all six students involved in those tournaments.
