Hi, I'm Ian Porter the founder of The Australian Ukulele Orchestra based in Sydney Australia. One of my students is a member of the Niue community and has reached out to me to help procure 20 ukuleles. He has also asked if I could visit the island mid-year (2024) to restring and repair what is left of the 10 they currently have in the primary school there, and do a little teaching and performing as well. I naturally jumped at this volunteer opportunity to help him and his community.

The initial target sought is for the purchase of suitable instruments, bags, tuners, strings, and freight, but anything in excess of the target will go towards helping with my general costs getting and sustaining me there.

It will be wonderful to spread the love of this little instrument to this Pacific paradise and support the local community there. I look forward to your assistance with this unique opportunity to support our island neighbours.
