After a huge cold snap, and now a thaw with better temps happening, you know what’s on my mind? UWC! The Ukulele World Congress 2024!

Through the years, we have made an incredibly positive impact on this field, and in its ease of use for this gathering. Now- a- days, we don’t have to climb up on the stage… we have the coolest green room bench anywhere, there is no need to jump over the creek between the fields, there is an actual shelter complete with electricity as our headquarters, we have stage lights for better videos, portable barricades for directing traffic on the field, and we have super cool colored lights to give us the atmosphere that is the stage at night! This has all occurred because of the field fund.

There have been pre-parties that started on Wednesday nights and moved to Thursdays for more folks to enjoy. Open mics at the Muddy Boots, and at the Porthole, The Cocktail Parties at the Dawg Pound, and the absolutely epic Psychedelic Party under the tent! How many remember us shutting down the circuit breaker and everybody there just kept the song going acapella while we kicked back on the breaker!

This fund is used for things such as: cutting the field, porta potties, the party tent, some of the pot luck food,…in general, the operational expenses for this “free” gathering.

We don’t have any field projects this year as we’ve done all that needs to be done for the gathering. This year the Thursday night Pre-party is being handled privately. All of the money you donate this year is going straight to the gathering!
