Hello, my name is Mary and I am currently seeking asylum in the United States due to fear of political persecution in Nigeria. I am not involved in politics myself, but I am closely connected to someone who was falsely accused by the current government. Even though the accusation was later proven false, being associated with this individual has put me at risk. I fear future persecution as a result of this connection.

Nigeria has a long history of political injustice and human rights violations. Peaceful citizens, journalists, and activists are often punished for speaking out or being linked to those the government views as a threat. A clear example of this is the End SARS movement, where thousands of young Nigerians protested against police brutality. The government responded with violence, arrests, and intimidation. Many were unjustly detained or disappeared and justice was never served.

Living in such an environment has become unbearable and dangerous. This is why I have applied for asylum in the US to seek safety and the opportunity to rebuild my life in peace. I am currently raising funds to cover essential legal and living expenses. Any support, no matter the size, would make a meaningful difference. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for standing with me.
