Ukrainian Family of 5 in Cloverdale

The Kasianov family from Odessa, Ukraine arrived on March 18th, 2024 and are currently living in Cloverdale, California. They were forced to flee their home in Odessa, Ukraine due to the war and came to Sonoma County to seek cancer treatment for Tetiana, a wife and mother of three children.

She has kidney cancer that has metastasized to the brain and is undergoing treatment at Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa, California by Dr. Zeyad Kanaan, a renowned oncologist. Tetiana is 42, her husband Vadim is 40, their son Andrii is 16, and their twin daughters Viktoriia and Anastasiia are 9.

Vadym and Tetiana are doctors and throughout the past two years of war in Ukraine have remained in the country assisting patients at their local clinic in Odessa. In the first month of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Tetiana was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Tetiana survived several surgeries and chemotherapy. In October 2023, they received test results showing that the cancer was in remission, but in January 2024, Tetiana had a seizure at the clinic where she worked as a family physician. An MRI showed foci of metastases in her brain. This final blow to the family prompted them to leave Ukraine, saving the family from the bombing in Odessa and treating Tetiana in a safe place for her and the children to live.

We need to help the family now that they have arrived in the US. While they are adjusting to the new country, they will need financial assistance with the costs of renting a home, buying a car, gasoline, supplies for the children's schooling and all the necessities of living from scratch, leaving everything behind.

They are getting help from my friends, the Bezhenar family, also Ukrainian refugees that I have known for almost two years now. Oleksandr is working in Sonoma County as a custom wallpaper installer, Maria teaches and composes music, their three daughters are talented musicians and currently students in Sonoma County.

The funds will not go to my account, but to the Kasianov family. Please give whatever you can to help Tetiana get through this cancer treatment and start a life here for their three kids.
