Ukrainian FAmily Needs our Support
Donation protected
When Russia invaded Ukraine and war commenced, I felt what most of us felt and continue to feel: deeply saddened, angry, afraid and helpless. I have also not been able to stop thinking about the families with special needs and how impossible everything must feel. There are families in Ukraine with children who have Friedreich's Ataxia (FA). In the FA community, we are all FAmily. When your FAmily needs help, you help. An email chain started in our FA parent group, and I discovered that one of our German members plans to pick up a refugee FA family at the border this coming week. There are two additional families he is in contact with. A member from Switzerland also offered to house families. We are all hoping they can get out. One family is in Odessa, which is currently under siege. Streets are broken, and getting anyone out on wheels will not be easy. Much of the FAmily in the US wants to help, and we can best do that by offering what we can to send to them as they find themselves displaced with extraordinary needs.
If you haven't known what to do, this is something you can do that will directly help someone who needs it.
Thank you,
