Ukrainian Refugee Family

Hi, we are raising money for my dear friend Mayya's Ukranian family. Mayya moved from Ukraine to the US over twenty years ago, but many family members still live there. Mayya has been critical in getting her seven-months pregnant niece, Snezhanna, along with Snezhanna's future mother and sister-in-law, out of Ukraine. Snezhanna's fiance was required to stay in Ukraine, but after much work and coordination, on March 6th all three women (along with their three cats) successfully crossed the border into Slovakia! They then had a quick stay in Poland, but due to the outpouring of support from many of Mayya's friends and former co-workers in Europe, she was able to obtain temporary housing for all three women and their pets in Germany!

They have started the process to obtain refugee assistance, but it is a longer process than expected. Money donated will help cover expenses in preparing for the baby, food, transportation, obtaining items for their temporary home (blankets, pillows, etc.) and other expenses used in day-to-day life. Mayya is doing everything she can to help support them in every way, including financially, but any additional funds would be helpful. This is an incredibly stressful time for this family, but if we can provide additional financial support, that is one less thing this family has to worry about.

They have a long road ahead of them, but Ukrainians have indeed demonstrated how much grit and determination they have.
