My friend Alex, a former MED student at Stanford, working in Switzerland now, providing med supplies and aid to Kyiv. (Alex said it was OK to show his face, I was worried about his security - and previously covered it)
The photo of the family of five were rescued and driven to where they would have to 'start life over,' but at least they are alive, in part thanks you, to our donors!
Medical care for emergency hospital in Kiev - Immediate help – Unbureaucratic – Direct
How can we help the innocent people of Ukraine in need? Dr. Alexander Röck has found a way. He is putting together truckloads of emergency medicines, pharmaceuticals and surgical instruments that are then transported from Switzerland to a distribution center in Lviv in Ukraine in a convoy accompanied by his wife Rachel Röck. From there, the supplies are transported further to the crisis area in Kiev, where two Ukrainian colleagues have converted their private practices into field hospitals. Dr. Artem Dubnov is an oral surgeon and member of the Ukrainian Parliament and Dr. Daria Sapon is a psychiatrist. In their clinic they now provide emergency care and surgery to the wounded and sick.
The relief action was established under the patronage of Hans Oppliger, member of the cantonal council of St. Gallen (Tel. +41 79 364 11 87). In the first delivery, medicines and consumables worth CHF 35,000 were donated.
We ask you to support this project with monetary donations! All donations will be used 100 percent for medicines and logistics.
Dr. Alexander Roek has Russian roots, studied molecular Biology at Stanford University and did postdoctoral research at UCSF. He is certified in psychiatry and psychotherapy by Swiss Medical Association and a certified medical assessor by Swiss Insurance Medicine.
***March 12 -They are taking a second batch of meds now, and will bring back a few more displaced moms with kids. ***
