Ukraine Shoebox Appeal Transport Costs
Donation protected
Hi
I'm Lynsey. Like many people around the world, I've been horrified by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing aggression it is imposing on innocent people.
With the help of volunteers in our community, we've been collecting humanitarian aid at Christ Church, Healey in Rochdale.
We are now co-ordinating a Childrens Shoebox Appeal, through Support Ukraine UK. An organisation set up by 2nd, 3rd generation Ukrainians in the UK, as a direct response to the Invasion.
My brother Jonathan Barratt and I will be taking the shoeboxes and other essential aid to the Ukraine border in a convoy.
Our Grandad, Ivan Steciuk is from Lviv. He sadly died before seeing his Motherland gain independence. Watching the images and hearing accounts from people fleeing their homes and fighting for their country is just heartbreaking. This is very personal for us as a family. We feel we need to honour our Grandad, our heritage and do what we can to support Ukraine and help children in this horrific war.
The funds raised will go towards the transport and fuel costs, to take the shoeboxes and other essential aid to the Ukraine border.
Many thanks for your generosity
Slava Ukraini!
