Hi, I am Chris Broome. Although I am the Chairman of the Bonsall & Derbyshire Dales Link of the national charity, Chernobyl Children's Lifeline, I wish to make it clear that the project of delivering aid for people in Ukraine is organised and delivered not on behalf of the charity but by a group of like-minded people, friends and supporters. It is not funded by the charity and is not a CCLL project. I and two others, Mary and Ken, are going to the Ukraine border with Poland to take much needed aid for families and the Fire and Rescue services in the Korosten and surrounding areas of northern Ukraine, north west of Kiev. We leave Bonsall on 13th April returning on the 20th April. We plan to bring back with us Ukraine refugees including young children to England who have be invited purely under the Government Scheme. The 17-seater minibus we are taking has been kindly loaned to us free of charge by the Leicester Outdoor Pursuit Centre to whom we are very grateful. This appeal for funds is to help to pay for the expenses that will be incurred on the trip such as fuel, ferry crossing charges, motorway tolls and accommodation. We will also use some of the funds to buy essential aid, particularly medical aid supplies and foodstuffs for children that is urgently needed. Your donation would mean a lot to the children we will be helping. Many are suffering trauma from the ordeals they are going through. Others have been injured from missile attacks on their homes. Thank you for your donation.
