Neil and Pamela Schake Cancer Fund

The the past thirty some years, Neil and Pam have done everything together. Battling cancer at the same time was never part of the plan.

In January, Pam went to have surgery to remove a mass from her breast. They found out it was a phyllodes tumor and that it was cancer. They did a second surgery and they did get the cancer out. Pam is currently under going radiation treatment at Hillman Magee.

While this was happening, Neil began to experience extreme pain. He went to the ER and was admitted for 10 days. During this time, they found a sacral tumor on Neil's spine. After A LOT of testing, we learned that Neil has Stage 4 Liver Cancer. He is currently on chemo/immunotherapy treatments and will continue to be on treatment for months to come.

Pam was a stay at home Mom most of her life and hasn't worked much through the years due to her health issues with the RA/lupus. Neil has always been their main source of income, with him and their son doing jobs for Schake Construction. However, due to Neil being in such pain, he has been unable to work since late January. They had some savings, but after two months, their savings is depleted and they could really use some help. Expenses just for gas and parking between two hospitals has added up quickly and although their income has stopped, the bills just keep coming.
