As many of you know, my Daddy had a heart attack in January and was recovering well. We took him on Feb 28th for 2 additional stents, then 8 days later he had a massive coronary. We thought he would get better but he never woke up and when they did an MRI and EEG, we found he had suffered bilateral strokes and very severe brain damage due to lack of oxygen when they were trying to revive him. We put him in Hospice in the Hospital and they told us they didn't expect him to survive 48 hrs. That was 8 days ago. Since then he's suffered another stroke on the left side. Even though he's survived well beyond what they expected, there are zero signs of brain activity other than life sustaining. The issue is they won't let him stay in the hospital even though they know he has a few days to survive so they're making us move him and he doesn't have Medicaid so it's not covered. We are going to have to pay for a facility and Dad used the last bit of his savings along with the better part of his Social Security the last 3 months to pay his deductible and copay to the hospital for the inpatient in Jan as well as the outpatient stents in Feb. We don't have the money they are requiring. This is so hard. We're already dealing with the loss of a husband, father, grandfather..... and so on, now we have to worry about this. Any help will be greatly appreciated. He was always so generous and caring and I know there are so many out there who care for him. Thank you. God bless you all.
