Hi! My dad has no idea I’m doing this because he has too much pride - I would never ask for outside help unless we absolutely needed it.

Last night our 6 year old family dog Mia fell ill while my dad was playing fetch with her. Her back legs became paralyzed and she was unable to get up. After taking her to the vet, we were told she has IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) along with hip dysplasia which is often seen in Golden Retrievers.

Our options are MRI & surgery ($10k+) or steroids/treatments for 5 days which the vet did not feel optimistic about because of the stage of IVDD she is in. He said the steroid option would likely lead to having to put her down.

Almost 7 years ago, after my grandpa passed away, my Dad brought Mia into our family and I truly believe that dog was sent to him from his Dad to fill the void he felt.

Humbly asking for help of any kind to help fund the treatment she will need (MRI, surgery, physical therapy, medication). Please help us save my Dad’s SOUL dog.
