Hi, we are the Garcia siblings, and the lovely couple in the photo is our parents, Roy (Butch) and Sandy Garcia. Mom went in for surgery on Nov 24th, 2021 and everything seemed to go well. Since then, she has been opened back up twice, put in a medically induced coma, and now, in critical condition, must soon be transfered to the Cleveland Clinic. Our parents have been together for almost 50 years and they have never been apart like this. Dad isn't supposed to drive, as he has a recent history of seizures. He is a Vietnam Veteran who has worked his whole life, and has always been there for us. None of us are well off, so we're trying to raise some money to set him up in a hotel on the CC campus, 120 miles from their home, so he can continue to be with our Mom while she is hospitalized. The closest, cheapest place we've found is just under $100 /night, and they have a shuttle so Dad won't have to drive. They'll be moving her as soon CC has a bed. We don't know how long she will be there, so we're hoping for some support to help keep them together, as being apart would be detrimental to both of them.
