The Uniform Project

The Uniform Project is helping to raise money for Children's school uniform in Africa. 

With thousands of children unable to attend school due to not having the correct school uniform, I am raising funds through a number of activities. 

 

In September 2021, I launched my 4th book, '52 Words to 52' and all proceeds from the sales was to support this project. 

 What’s the link between the book and the project? I hear you ask…… As I was completing the last word of my 52 words, which is ‘Sacrifice’. I recalled a dream a friend (one of my spiritual mentors) shared with me earlier on in the year. It was about some children who struggled to learn due to the lack of proper school uniforms & footwear. As I thought about that word Sacrifice, I could hear the Lord asking me, “Shola, what are you willing to give? What is your Sacrifice?” Then I knew the Lord was pointing me back to that dream that was shared with me. I began to see pictures of children in ripped uniform and some with no school shoes in my dreams and even all over social media. I decided that this will be my (our) Sacrifice. I knew I had to do something! Then I decided that the book had to be complete by my birthday, and all the proceeds will have to be used for this project. 

In October 2021, to continue to raise funds, we decided to launch a #53km walk every quarter. 

 Last year, due to your support and generosity, we raised just over a £1000. 

 In January 2022, we collaborated with Sparkle Foundation in Nigeria and sponsored the Uniform Packs for a school in celebration of international education day.

 As my birthday approaches again in 2022, I am dedicating my birth month, September, to walking 53Km in the month to raise more funds!
