Today, I had to rush my pup, Brutus, to the ER because he ingested lethal amounts of Xylitol from my fiber gummies he got into. They induced vomiting but are still not sure how much Xylitol was actually absorbed. The possible side effects from this poison to dogs are a sugar coma and seizures, liver damage with internal bleeding, and unfortunately, possible death. It is all a matter of time to see if the absorption was high enough to cause any of these problems.

Unfortunately, his ER bill as of now is an estimated $2300 without any additional life-saving medications. If he does have to have any other medications to help these side effects, it could be up to $3200. I will know more in the morning after his 12-18 hours of observation.

As most of you know, I am partially paralyzed in a wheelchair and am on disability. I try to offset that a little with my jewelry business. I don't have any savings since I barely get by with my daily needs. I'm begging for any help I can get to help Brutus and his medical bills. In the last year and a half, I have lost my 15-year-old dog, Toby, a month later my 15-year-old cat, Billie, and just two months ago my 20-year-old cat, Bob. Brutus just turned 1 in June and I need to do anything I can to save his life. He is my baby and is loved by my whole family.
