Joseph’s Journey

Donation protected
**Updates of my Father In Law Joseph pankey** The last few months we have dealt with healing old wounds and creating new. Joseph’s numbers have gone up and gone back down from day to day. The infections have come and go throughout his body. During these times, Joseph and us as a family have strengthened our abilities to adapt during these critical times. The memories and positivity we have creature during our battle with leukemia are coming to an end…. After 2 weeks back in the hospital for an infection once again, we have been informed that the leukemia is strengthening and the trial treatment we have been continuing is no longer a fit for his battle. He will be coming home and living out the time he has left with us. As a family, we will ensure he is able to create any last memories he would like to have with his family and friends. During his battle with leukemia, the precautionary measures to keep him healthy were to keep him away from anyone that had recently been sick and to keep him away from any type of bacteria. If you are wanting to visit/create memories with Joseph during this time, please reach out to myself or Michelle. If you are able to donate to help us create memories and/or assist with these difficult times, it is very much appreciated. Please share ❤️•••••••••Hello! The Pankey family is reaching out to ask for help during this extended troubled time. Creating a gofundme account was not in our health journey these last 2 years, but here we are. My father in law Joseph Pankey was diagnosed with Leukemia-AML in September 2021. Throughout his diagnosis he has overcome many challenges as big as losing his life and as a result of that has lost his mobility due to amputations. With that being said, that hasn’t stopped his abilities to overcome anything in this life. Joseph has not worked I full time since his diagnosis. My mother in law and I are currently caring for him. for those who do not know, my mother in law and father in law live with us in Grove City. My mother in law cares for my children during the day/school while I work. She has had to step down from full time to part time during this journey. Currently she is working 2 hours/day 10hours/week to be able to provide for herself and her husband Joe. Between getting him back and forth to the hospital everyday/every other day, and his long admissions at OSU—she’s unable to do anymore than she currently is. I am creating this Gofundme to help create a barrier in the struggles of our everyday lives. Joseph is in need of high protein/calorie intake due to his platelet count with his Leukemia diagnosis. Since the diagnosis he has lost 100lbs. The funds donated will go to groceries, medications, clothing for Joseph, gas to get him to appointments…etc. Thank you for sharing, donating, or reading our story. -The Pankey’s
