My name is Mendel Kleyman, and I am fundraising to provide a camp scholarship for a camp which holds a very dear place in my heart.

Last summer, I worked as a counselor in Camp Chayolei Hamelech. It is a very special sleepaway camp, where boys from the ages of 7 till 14 have the opportunity to experience a fun filled summer, with various activities and recreation, in a safe and meaningful environment.  

They welcome all kind of boys, including boys with severe disabilities and special needs. It is very heartwarming to have them in the camp, and watching them enjoy alongside the other boys.

Until this year, the camp as able to provide scholarships so that even low income families would be able to send their children.
Unfortunately, this year, that is not the case. One of their major supporters is not in the position to help, and I personally know of a number of boys who would not be able to go to camp because their families cannot afford it. 

That is why, as we marked the 10 year anniversary of my grandmother's passing, I took it upon myself to honor her memory by fundraising for camp scholarships. She was a firm believer in children's education, and believed that summer camp was not only a luxury, but a imperative part of a child's growth and development.

The day that camp officially starts is June 18th, therefore its imperative that we raise the money by then. 

Reaching my goal will mean the word to me, by continuing the legacy of my grandmother, as well as providing three children have an unforgettable summer they wouldn't be able to afford otherwise.
