Help Us Get Our Family Car Back on the Road
On Friday, February 21, my husband and I purchased a used car from John Holt Chevrolet, believing it would be a reliable vehicle for our family. By Monday, February 24, it was clear that something was seriously wrong. What was wrong? The motor was locked, and the entire engine was seized due to corrosion. We went back to the dealership to ask for our money back, but they refused to help. We even sought legal advice, but Oklahoma’s laws on used car sales make it nearly impossible for us to win, even though we were sold a car that failed almost immediately.
We’re left without a working vehicle—our only family car. Financing another car isn’t an option for us right now due to budget and credit limitations, so our only choice is to replace the motor, which will cost $8,500.
In the meantime, my parents have been gracious in allowing us to borrow one of their vehicles; however, this isn't a permanent solution. We need to have the vehicle fixed. It's currently still at Sooner Kia but we will have to move it soon, or it'll accrue storage fees.
This car is essential for our daily lives—getting to work, taking our kids to appointments, and handling everyday responsibilities. We never imagined being in this position, but we’re reaching out for help from our friends, family, and community.
If you can donate, any amount will help us get back on the road. If you can’t donate, we’d be incredibly grateful if you could share our fundraiser with others.
Thank you for your kindness and support!
