Callie - Callie entered my life in 2013 when I went to find out more about the Great Pyrenees Rescue of Wisconsin. I went to potentially volunteer and during the course of that visit met Callie who promptly stole my heart. She had been relinquished to the rescue about 8 months prior. She had once been a little boy's dog. Slept at the side of his bed and was his best friend. As she grew the family thought she had become too big so she went from the side of his bed to behind a snow fence. When the snow fence could not contain her she was relegated to live her live at the end of chain until one day the family decided they no longer had time for her at all and relinquished her to the rescue. I came to GPRW that day with a broken heart as I had just lost my three dogs to heart issues. I didn't honestly think I would ever be able to open my heart and adopt again. It took one look from Callie as they led her back to her kennel ... one look that seemed to be saying “you're not really going to leave and not take me with you.” Within days I had submitted my application and adopted her. She has been with me two short years. For two short years she has had her forever home, a grandma, an extended family, her cats to guard and me. She entered our home and pieced back together my broken heart, adopted my cats and loved us. On September 11th we learned Callie has cancer. She will require radiation, chemotherapy and various drugs. It is believed it may be the fast, aggressive type of cancer. Therein lies my plea... Callie needs help and she needs it quickly. If you could see it in your heart to donate whatever you could afford to my girl I would be forever grateful. I would not ask for myself, but I am asking for her, I am begging for her. Callie deserves more than two years... and I'd like to try and give her whatever additional time is possible. The goal is to raise $5,800. I know that is a lot of money and I don't even know if it is feasible, but I do know that I need to fight for her with everything I have and every little bit counts. If you can't donate please, share, share, share and ask your friends and family if they could donate. Thank you, Cindy
