Owners of Gamma Black & White, Peter Fairfield and Linnea Sweet, need our assistance!
Linnea has been suffering from debilitating illness and now requires a level of assistance and support—more than is presently possible for Peter to provide. Please see it in your hearts to help Peter and Linnea!
Peter is reaching out and letting our community know that Linnea has become more disabled over the years. Here’s a note from him about this…
“Linnea has become severely disabled. What started as arthritis and walking with a cane and then with a walker, has grown to spending 24/7 in a wheelchair. Even lying in bed is too painful. Recently she fell from her wheelchair while asleep and suffered a serious concussion and related injuries. She has been at SF General for weeks now. She is undergoing intensive physical therapy there and hopefully will become marginally mobile again. She is still unable to sleep in a regular bed, but but Medicare won’t even pay for a hospital bed!
We need a wheelchair accessible living situation. In and near San Francisco they are difficult to find and costly. We are on waiting lists for subsidized housing that is designed for the mobility impaired, but it will be from 2-5 years before housing becomes available. In the meantime we need help in affording a viable apartment, one that is wheelchair accessible. Linnea is now unable to walk at all. The in-law where we have been living has steps that prohibit wheelchair accessibility. She can’t enter or leave the apartment on her own.”
