No Actor Left In the Wings
LEARN ABOUT OUR PROGRAM...
No Actor Left in the Wings was made as a scholarship program for children and youth who would not be able to particiapte in UIL Programs due to finances. By donating to Up In Lights, there is an opportunity to help further the dreams of theater and art in the youth of Northern Colorado. Scholarships are given out every summer and your contributions help support those scholarships.
Up In Lights Productions Inc. is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization and has a mission to consistently provide opportunities for the youth of Northern Colorado to grow and mature in their performing abilities outside of the school. Giving performers the hands-on training needed to succeed in this industry and in their future careers.

Starting in 2000, Britni Girard produced family-friendly youth-oriented theater of the highest quality. Her legacy continues with Up In Lights (UIL) as it approaches its 17th year of serving the Northern Colorado community. The success of their Musical Theater Summer Camp Program has allowed them to reach hundreds of youth each summer and exposes a new generation of artists to the stage.
HOW MUCH?...
Most applicants request a partial scholarship to suppliment a portion of the expense of registration. Average request is $200 per applicant. To suppliment the processing fee's associated with fundraising, along with the funds required to scholarship all applicants, our goal is $5000. We hope to raise much of this total through online giving, the remainder we hope to cover through other donations.

OUR AWARD PROCESS...
Awards each year are based on a combination of application and financial need. Decisions on who will receive scholarship assistance for the summer camps are determined by the Up In Lights Board of Directors prior to the start of camp. Each year, applicants must provide a letter of recommendation, essay from the applicant describing why they would like to attend camp and what they feel they will gain by participating and a detailed application from the parent or guardian. The performer must be eligible by age for the summer camp they are applying for. Applicants do not need to have participated in an Up In Lights Program previously to apply. Applications for 2017 must be received by March 17, 2017. All applicants will be notified by email of the decisions by the Board of Directors. Awards will be announced on March 1, 2017
ANGELA JOHNSON INSPIRATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND...

This scholarship program was created by request of the Johnson Family. Not but a few days after Angela's Passing, did Up In Lights receive a request from the Johnson Family that a Scholarship Program be created in her memory to make sure that no performer is denied the opportunity to experience the arts, specifically through Up In Lights.
We are continually seeking to maintain a strong support system for performers in need of financial assistance. Specifically those hoping to participate in the Up In Lights Musical Theater Summer Camps. Up In Lights has very humbly taken on the task of honoring Angela's Memory with this Scholarship Program and hopes that it will ensure the upcoming generation of performers are provided with life changing experiences in the arts.

"I am so thankful for the Angela Johnson Inspiration Scholarship Fund. which gave me the chance to participate in Up In Light's 2014 summer camp where I was able to grow as an actor and performer. The talented staff and fellow participants made this a summer to remember!
The staff and directors were very encouraging and helped me build confidence in the abilities I have and helped me improve in the skills that I was lacking. The Master Classes offered were also very beneficial towards not only the show we were performing but my capability to perform better in general!
I also made many wonderful memories during the summer. All of the camp participants were loving and encouraging. There was never a moment where I felt left out from the group. Each camper had their own special skills which they were able to showcase within the performance.
I am very proud to have been a part of such an amazing camp and program. I couldn't have been apart of it if it wasn't for the Angela Johnson Inspiration Scholarship Fund. and I am very thankful for what their foundation has done for me and other aspiring performers.
Thank you!

"Dear Britni and the Up in Lights Staff:
This past year had been a very challenging year for our family. My husband and I were going through a divorce and things obviously changed for the kids. My daughter had been in Up in Lights for 2 years and couldn't wait to go again the summer of 2014. My youngest daughter couldn't wait to go because she was now old enough. She had watched her sister and couldn't wait for her turn. However, I didn't know how I would be able to send both kids to camp with my new role as a single mom and only one income. When I learned about the scholarship Up in lights offers I was hopeful that this would be an answer to my prayers and that my girls would still be able to attend the camp. We were very blessed and each child was awarded a scholarship to attend. These camps are not just fun, they are character building. My girls learned so much and I saw their confidence grow each day when they would come home from camp. The camp was not just a safe and fun place for them to go everyday, they made friends that they would not have met had they not taken part in the camp. They enjoyed every second and are counting the days until camp starts again this coming summer. In fact, my son wants to do it this summer as well. I thank you for offering such an amazing program to the kids of Northern Colorado and for offering scholarships that help families that might not otherwise be able to send their kids to this summer enrichment program.
Take care,
Briana Lasher"
