M.A.D. making a difference

My name is Joe Vigus. I have suffered a lifetime of mental health problems from Complex P T.S D., O.C.D, high functioning anxiety and severe depression due to circumstances beyond my control.

I'm hoping to raise money towards a charity called Pentreath Ltd. It is the only Cornish mental health charity that cover the whole county. The reason why they they are so important to me is because they have helped me so much over the last few years beginning with helping me build confidence, getting me to leave my house, helping me to see my worth, encouraging me to move forward in life, being around people, help put my fears aside to try and get my life in control and help towards going back to a working environment and travelling on public transport, helping me to sort my finances and putting together a new C.V.

The money raised for my chosen charity will be put into Pentreath's Maslow fund pot which is a pot of money that advisors can access to help participants in emergency need for example it could include buying interview clothing, heaters, food etc.

So with the help of my two uncles I will be facing my fear of water and kayaking 10 miles from Mountbatten to Torpoint making two stops in between at Drakes Island and Mount Edgecumbe. This will hopefully be done on either 10th or 11th of September. By doing this challenge it not only tests my mental state but also have to over come some physical ailments that would normally stop me. But I feel this is far too important to me to not do anything to help them.
