At the grand old age of 5, Ivy has decided she would like to donate her long tresses to help young children battling cancer-giving them a chance to have hair again.
Anyone that knows Ivy, knows how much she loves her long hair and requests a different hairstyle everyday (some not always practical or feasible), with matching bows and scrunchies, of course!
Her hair is down past her bottom and the thought of even having a trim at the hairdressers usually fills her with dread - she’s always loved having long hair. Yet, for this special cause, Ivy is excited to be able to donate at least 12 inches of her beautiful hair to another deserving child!
With the help of Mummy, Ivy has researched where she would like to donate her hair. Her choice being the Little Princess Trust, a charity founded after their own daughter, who had lost her hair through cancer treatment, struggled to find a suitable wig. Sadly, their daughter, Hannah, lost her battle with cancer. In her memory, they launched the charity so other children could have the opportunity of having hair again!
The Little Princess Trust provides FREE real hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment. They also fund childhood cancer research, and the sponsorship raised from Ivy's hair donation will contribute to this vital cause.
Just one wig for a child costs £700 to make & fit. Our goal is to raise enough funds to ensure at least one child will benefit from Ivy’s generous act. Any additional funds could also be used to purchase crucial new drugs for research testing.
We think Ivy is a SuperHAIRo for wanting to do this, and if you’d like to show your support, please share our link and donate if you can.
