Help For Peter's Funeral
Donation protected

We are heartbroken to share that Peter Arthur, 68, from Lee-on-the-Solent, lost his battle with depression, and took his life, at Browndown in Gosport. Peter was last seen on Friday the 29th January. Devastatingly, his body was discovered in The Solent on the 31st January 2021 at Cowes beach, in the Isle of Wight. Peter saw a decline in his mental health during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Although, this loss is still an overwhelming shock to his family and friends.
Peter was a much-loved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Despite his struggles, he would always go above and beyond for those in need. Peter will be remembered for his great love of animals, nature, and the sea. Peter was previously in the Merchant Navy, and a Fisherman. He spent most of his later working life as a General Builder and Landscape Gardener.
Ten years ago, Peter saw a rapid decline in his mental and physical health. He lost his house, business, and began to struggle financially. During lockdown, Peter had survived treatment and surgery for Cancer. Although, his mental health and wellbeing was affected.
We are asking for any help in raising some funds to help the family make funeral arrangements. If any extra moneys are raised, his family would like to donate to Solent Mind, mental health charity.
We understand these are very difficult times, and financially hard for many, not only Peter’s family. But even the smallest donation is very much appreciated.
