As many of you already know, my sisters partner Gene suffered an attack recently that may very well have life altering consequences. In his effort to protect her and other patrons in the establishment (because Gene is probably the nicest guy you’ll ever meet), he was stabbed. The knife penetrated his small intestine and he had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, and it has been battle after battle since. Another surgery was necessary because the knife went through his intestine and the wound on the back side was missed, causing days of excruciating pain and suffering. At this point he will be missing at least 2 months of work after being released, which will be at least 2 weeks,

not to mention thousands upon thousands of dollars in medical bills.

No one can predict encounters with a psychopath, and so obviously a medical emergency of this magnitude was not something he was prepared for.
