So far he's had 2 surgeries, 20+ days in the hospital, 6 CT scans, 3 ER visits, a 24/7 feeding tube, a 27/7 IV nutrition infusion that requires Sandi to be with him and unable to work. He’s facing around the clock medical care and we know there will be at least one more surgery coming up in the next couple of weeks.

UPDATE FROM SANDI (February 9th)

The past 3 weeks have been…well…I don’t even know what words to use.

Exactly one year ago Robbie had a GI bleed and almost died. Emergency surgery fixed the bleeding, but he never quite recovered fully. He has struggled for a year to keep food down and manage intense abdominal pain.

3 weeks ago we found out he had a perforated bowel and sepsis. Another emergency surgery and a 2 week hospital stay saved his life, again. Unfortunately, he’s had some complications which have landed him back in the hospital. Our plan now is to give him IV nutrition for a few days so he is strong enough to have another surgery to hopefully fix his intestines.

We know if anyone can get through this it’s Robbie! We appreciate all the messages, calls, meals, and visits. I read each message to him, or play it, and there have been many smiles and tears. He can’t talk with the NG tube because it's uncomfortable, and he can’t respond to all your messages, but he wanted me to let everyone know he loves you and will be back in action soon.
