Help Rebuild a Home and Life After Fire

Hello family and friends,

As many of you know, I have been displaced from my home for nearly two years now. What appeared to be a minor house fire has become a major disruption to my life in so many ways. My house was totally gutted, with the assurance that it would be rebuilt within three months. Inaction of my insurance adjuster, and inaction of the contractor to rebuild in a timely manner (they did not honor the contract), has led to this long ordeal that has me still displaced, long after my insurance coverage for housing has been exhausted. I've been staying at hotels, B&B's, and a tiny house community since May 2024 at my own expense while continuing to pay my mortgage and utilities for my house. I've been separated from my children, my pets, and my familiar way of life. I have also incurred legal fees to attempt to recoup my losses for rent, transportation, and living expenses such as laundry and food expenses. Furthermore, the actual cost of repairs has exceeded the amount that was approved by my insurance policy. There are repairs that are needed to pass code inspection that were not addressed in the initial estimate that have to be done before I can get an occupancy permit.

It troubles me to have to ask for help but I'm in an increasingly desperate situation. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
