About Faithful Children's Home!

This home was created by a local Ugandan mother who was alarmed by the growing number of street children and orphans in her community. Rather than ship these children away, the home's goal is to raise the children in their original community and culture. It is a Christian based home that will accept all children in need of help.

Meet Miss Teddy!

Miss Teddy is a 22 year old single mother of two very young children in Uganda. She grew up as an orphan in Uganda so her heart breaks seeing any child suffering and, as a result, she has taken in 18 orphans/street children. She is the founder and sole caregiver for these children and needs help to support them. Your donation helps them pay rent, buy food, fund their schooling, pay for medicine and yearly doctor check-ups.

As the fundraiser progresses I will introduce more children but to start I would like to introduce a few kiddos!

Shakul is 4 years old and was born on Sep. 9, 2020. He currently has the flu (as of Feb. 6, 2025).

Malaika is 5 years old and born on August 16, 2019.

Timothy is 1 year old and was born on July 27, 2023. His favorite food is meat!

Maduren is 3 years old and born on August 6, 2021.

Zabu is 3 years old and born on Dec 5, 2021.

Kalangwa is 6 years old and born on Feb 3, 2019

Meet the Organizer

I am Sarah Poynter, currently a preschool teacher, located in Indiana. I have travelled internationally through out the middle east, South and Central America, Africa, and Asia. While in Bolivia and Nepal I visited compassion international sites and orphanages and, while there, was able to see the positives and negatives of such organizations. I hope to use what I've learned while organizing this fundraiser. I met Miss Teddy about a year ago while scrolling online. From there we have developed a wonderful friendship! I have been able to talk with Miss Teddy and her children via video chat and phone calls. My friend is currently planning on visiting Uganda and stopping by several children's home, one of which is Faithful Children's Home! So stay tuned for more info!
