Many people have been and are being affected by the police brutality in Uganda. A lot of people have lost their lives because of exercising their civic rights or were unfortunately caught in the crossfire. A lot of people are in hospital with very serious injuries and absolutely no financial support from the government. Many of those who were unlawfully arrested have no access to lawyers and no contact with their family members. Despite being in a pandemic Ugandans have felt the civic duty to exercise their rights to protest but have been treated punitively. We are starting up this gofundme in the hopes of helping out as much as we can with hospital bills for the injured, food and other supplies that they might need while in the hospital. Also we are looking to help the prisoners who were illegally detained by the police and are in prison with no access to legal aid or bail money.
100% of all funds will be going directly to the people in need and we aim to show this through transparency by constantly sharing updates on what’s happening every step of the way. We appreciate any help we’ll receive and thank you in advance for your support.
Thank you
