Ugandan Girl Needs Sickle Cell Operation
Donation protected
Mary Favour Byansih is a beautiful 9-year-old girl who lives with her parents and younger brother in Busia, Eastern Uganda, right on the Kenyan border. At the age of 1, Mary was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia, a very debilitating disease which has caused her an unmeasurable amount of discomfort and suffering ever since. She often spends hours a day writhing in pain which she simply cannot escape from, instead of being able to play and enjoy her life like a normal young girl.
We have made a short video you can watch which will give you a glimpse into the day-to-day life of the Seguya family. https://rumble.com/v2iove4-the-fight-to-end-the-suffering-of-mary-favour-byansih.html
Thanks to the miracles of modern medicine, it is now possible to cure sickle cell anemia. This requires quite a complex operation, which involves destroying the infected bone marrow through chemotherapy and replacing it with healthy marrow.
This type of transplant was first completed successfully with a 7-year-old Ugandan girl in 2008. She is now living a normal life.
Unfortunately however, this type of operation is extremely expensive, likely to cost somewhere in the range of $70,000 USD, and of course the family has no means of raising this money on their own. This is why we are reaching out to the GoFundMe community in order to try to raise the funds necessary to free young Mary from the burden of this terrible affliction.
We sincerely hope that this plea for assistance will be well received and that people will be sympathetic towards her plight. We are praying that, with your help, Mary will finally be able to begin living a normal life.
All proceeds go directly to Mary's father, Seguya Amos Junior, in Busia, Uganda.
