Uganda Women's Baseball Trip

For those that don't know, I had the privilege to live in Uganda for awhile after college working with a ministry doing architecture work in East Africa. I loved every bit of it and even got connected with the baseball and softball organizations in Uganda. However, at the time, there was no women's baseball in the country. Fast forward to 2019, and I had the incredible opportunity to take some of my USA Baseball teammates to the country I love and help start women's baseball in Uganda. We had the best time sharing the game we love to young girls across the country. Since then, a whole organization for women's baseball has started in Uganda, Baseball at Heart. Since 2019, women's baseball has grown immensely in Uganda. There are now seven different regions in the country involved and hundreds of young girls playing baseball. Baseball and sports, help give these girls opportunities that they might not have had otherwise.

Now, four years later, several of my USA Baseball teammates and I have another unique opportunity, to go back and help grow the game by hosting clinics in different regions of Uganda. We will be traveling to five different towns and sharing our skills in the game and working on their development.

I am trying to raise $3,000 to help put on these events. At each of the five regions, we will be providing the girls with breakfast and lunch, any of their transport to get to the fields and funds needed for the fields and support that go with hosting full day events. We will have about 100 girls at each of the five locations, so for $3,000 that covers about 500 girls for a full day of baseball camps.
